Beyond the Wheeze: Recognizing and Managing Pediatric Respiratory Distress — Jan. 16, 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. This course equips healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills to identify, assess, and manage respiratory distress in pediatric patients through learning to recognize early warning signs of respiratory failure, differentiate asthma exacerbation severity using clinical and objective criteria, and apply evidence-based interventions for acute respiratory emergencies.  NEW  Post-Crash Care: Engaging with EMS Partners — Jan. 8, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. The webinar will overview how State Highway Safety Officers can partner with EMS to strengthen post-crash care and inform Triennial Highway Safety Plan development.  NEW  Pediatric Emergency Education Lecture Series – Playing with Fire: EMS Management of Pediatric Burns — Jan 9, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. This activity for the interdisciplinary healthcare team will include a review of current literature for the evaluation, treatment and management of pediatric patients encountered in the prehospital or emergency setting. EMS Providers and nurses working in the prehospital or emergency setting will benefit from this education.  NEW  Trauma Care from the Patient and Family Perspective: Recovery from Penetrating Head Trauma — Jan. 14, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Through real world case review, this course examines the care of children and adolescents with penetrating head injuries from stabilization through recovery, emphasizing the patient and family experience. Learners will explore early injury recognition, anticipated treatments, and key opportunities for clinical team members to positively influence outcomes, communication, and the recovery journey.  NEW  Virtual Education Series: Breaking the Cycle of Screen-Driven Anxiety among Kids and Teens — Jan. 16, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. This activity for the interdisciplinary healthcare team will include a review of current literature and clinical pathways followed by Children’s Hospital Colorado for anxiety. In addition to a presentation from content experts, attendees will participate in case study review and discussion to provide direction on practice. As a result of this activity, learners will be able to report new knowledge related to anxiety in order to provide current, evidence-based care to pediatric patients.  NEW  Virtual Grand Rounds: Mass Casualty Incidents – Triage, Assessment, and Treatment — Jan. 22, 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. This course reviews the principles of pediatric mass casualty incident response, using the Annunciation School shooting at Children’s Minnesota as a recent case example. Participants will explore rapid pediatric triage, assessment, and treatment, and discuss the evolving mass casualty response framework at Children’s Minnesota and across the region. Regional EMS Refresher — Feb. 2, 4, 6, 9, & 11. This fully virtual program offers a comprehensive review of essential EMS topics including cardiology, trauma, airway and respiratory emergencies, obstetrics, and pediatrics.  NEW  Pediatric Readiness Guidelines for ERs: a NEW National Assessment — Feb. 12, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. In collaboration with the Federal Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Program, experts from leading organizations in pediatric emergency care will soon release the updated 2026 joint policy statement, “Pediatric Readiness in the Emergency Department.” These guidelines will serve as the foundation for the next National Pediatric Readiness Project (NPRP) Nationwide Assessment of emergency departments (EDs), launching in March 2026.  NEW  Advanced Burn Life Support — Feb. 27, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Advanced Burn Life Support Live is a hands-on course designed to provide the how-to of emergency care of the burn patient through the first 24-hour critical time period. The program supports emergency and mass casualty preparedness focusing on triage, burn survivability, patient transportation, and patient treatment.
