EMTS Branch Announcements

 

 NEW  EMS Podcast Invisible Scars: The Battle for Mental Health in EMS (Path4EMS) — Questions contact Jessica Nelson or call 720-288-2566.

 

EMTS Grant Application Open — Fiscal Year 2026 applications will be accepted through Feb. 15 for provider and system improvement grant proposals. A pre-application must be submitted no later than Feb. 8 to access and submit the full application.

 

The EMTS Funding Program is open to organizations that provide EMS and trauma services in Colorado. Questions contact Andre Smith or call 303-692-2475.

Ground Ambulance Licensing Updates

 

 NEW  Ground Ambulance Vehicle Insurance — If your agency has not already, please update your ground ambulance vehicle insurance for licensing by contacting the insurance company and requesting to add the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment as a certificate holder. Trauma Program Leadership Workshop — Feb. 20, 9:00 a.m. – noon. The workshop will have online only participation. The workshop aims to help better understand Colorado’s trauma system rules and trauma program leadership roles.

 

There will be an optional training for those using the state-sponsored ImageTrend Patient Registry platform from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. following the workshop.

 

Group invitations will be sent to all trauma program managers, trauma medical directors, and data administrators as identified in the facility’s organizational profile.

New National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Basic Life Support Exam — The NREMT will transition to a new Basic Life Support exam for EMR and EMT Apr. 7. Questions contact NREMT.

 

 NEW  Best Practice Guidance for Blood Product Administration Documentation — The National Association Of State EMS Officials has produced a guidance document to provide states with a standardized method for documenting blood product usage, which will facilitate improved data analysis. Do you have news or an upcoming event that may interest the EMS and trauma community? Submit your announcement for consideration in our news blast. Fill out the EMTS on the Go submission request for consideration.

 

Events two months out will be considered for inclusion under Training and Education.  Events submitted more than two months out will be placed as “save the dates” and will run for two weeks. Early submissions will then need to resubmit two months or less out from the start date of the event.
