2025 Medical Response and Surge Exercise (MRSE)

We hope you are all having a great 2025 thus far. Thank you to everyone who has registered for our 2025 Medical Response and Surge Exercise (MRSE) scheduled for March 6th, 2025 (during our Q3 membership meeting).

• What is the MRSE? 

  • The MRSE is a functional exercise designed to test and improve the healthcare system’s ability to respond to mass casualty incidents, natural disasters, pandemics, or other emergencies that cause a surge in patient demand. The MRSE is an annual requirement for HCCs. 

• What is the goal of the MRSE? 

  • The MRSE aims to ensure the healthcare system can respond effectively to emergencies, protect public health, and save lives. The exercise utilizes a minimum surge of 10% of licensed Medical Surge Beds to test these capacities and capabilities. 

• Who should participate in the MRSE?

  • Although the MRSE focuses on hospitals, emergency medical services, and emergency management, ALL coalition members and partners are encouraged to participate! As additional member types register for this exercise, our team will attempt to create tailored content to guide their engagement.
